Entwinement of two affiliated companies by promoting potentials

Our client’s concern

The communication process across departments and corporate boundaries and the basic understanding of diversity can be promoted in several ways. Terranets bw and TRANSNET BW wanted to achieve this and identify and promote talents at the same time. KI.M was asked to support the process and design a special Cross Mentoring program.

The project

A particular and unique feature of the program was that the mentor-mentee tandems were formed by pairing people from both companies (cross-over). Apart from a kick-off event to get to know each other and the ongoing tandem meetings, diversity was chosen as a leading theme by the executive board. The leading theme was prepared by the mentees in form of a group work and supported by KI.M with content-related input, consolidation workshops and final rehearsals. At a final evening event with the executive boards and the chairmen of both sister companies the results were presented by the mentees. Since the pilot implementation was successful, the Cross Mentoring program will be enrolled once again in 2017.

3 Interim evaluation by the mentees

In order to evaluate the level of satisfaction with the Cross Mentoring program between terranets bw and TRANSNET BW, both mentors and mentees were asked. This intermediate evaluation focused on the tandem meetings between mentors and mentees.
