[:de]Starting your career at KI.M – Interview with our new colleague Pia[:]

[:de]We are pleased to introduce you to young talents in this blog series who have found their ideal career entry in KI.M directly after graduating.

Pia has been part of the KI.M team for two and a half months and is a recent graduate of her Master's in Psychology. Her graduation ceremony was just recently held in Münster, and she can already report on her work conducting trainings and AC workshops, as well as developing training concepts! What Pia appreciates most about starting her career as a consultant is the opportunity to work simultaneously in personnel selection, personnel development, and change management, as well as with a wide range of clients.

Tell us more about yourself – Who are you?

My name is Pia, and I'm a passionate psychologist. During my studies in Trier and Münster, I was particularly interested in the field of business psychology, which is why I chose that as my focus. I first became aware of KI.M through the consistently positive internship reports from fellow students in Münster. When Svenja, who studied with me in Münster, posted in our shared Münster psychology WhatsApp group that KI.M was looking for support, I didn't have to think twice.

Don’t be shy – how did you convince us in the interview?

Even if that statement might sound a bit trite coming from a psychologist, I'm really good with people. I'm good at putting myself in the other person's shoes and engaging with their point of view. This helps me develop tailor-made solutions for our clients. Furthermore, I've already gained experience in training design and implementation in previous positions, which now helps me in my work at KI.M.

Mind, heart or courage – which component of KI.M consulting appeals to you most and why?

Heart. As I mentioned at the beginning, I am a passionate psychologist, wholeheartedly. At KI.M, I meet many like-minded people. I'm convinced that you achieve the best results when you put your heart into your work.

Off to the future – What technical gimmick would you invent to make your life easier at work or at home?

It would definitely be beaming. Not only because I currently live in Düsseldorf, which means my commute takes up a lot of time, but also because my friends are now spread out. So, meeting up with my best friend in London for coffee wouldn't be a problem.

Whether it’s a travel destination, an activity or something else – what’s at the top of your bucket list?

There are still many, many travel destinations on my bucket list. Ever since I traveled through Southeast Asia between my bachelor's and master's studies, I've been gripped by wanderlust. Brazil and Madeira currently top the list.
I'm also an avid runner. In Münster, I ran around Lake Aasee several times a week. I still have to find my route in Cologne. Next year, I definitely want to run a half marathon. The Cologne Marathon is perfect for that.

Welcome to KI.M, Pia!
