[:de]We are delighted that after three and a half years of freelance work at the KI.Group, Kathrin Burmann is now a permanent member of the KI.M team, contributing her knowledge and experience to consulting projects. Get to know Kathrin better, both professionally and personally, in this interview.
Tell us more about yourself – Who are you?
My name is Kathrin Burmann, a psychologist and in the final stages of my doctorate in business administration. It became clear to me early on that I wanted to work in a consulting context. Therefore, while studying psychology and working as a research assistant at the University of Trier, I completed training as a human resources development trainer and worked as a freelancer for several management consultancies. Most recently, I worked as a freelancer for the KI.Group for three and a half years. I liked the KI.M approach and philosophy so much that I consider myself fortunate to now be contributing my knowledge and experience to KI.M as a permanent consultant. I'm very much looking forward to the upcoming consulting projects and personal development opportunities.
Don’t be shy – how did you convince us in the interview?
My passion is to find professionally and personally suitable candidates in selection processes and to support people in their personal and professional development. In addition to my professional and analytical skills, I achieve this primarily through my open-mindedness, empathy, and my ability to listen to people. Furthermore, I am interested in current scientific findings and developments and enjoy integrating them into my consulting to offer our clients scientifically sound procedures and training.
Mind, heart or courage – which component of K.IM consulting appeals to you most and why?
Clearly, heart – although intelligence and courage are essential in consulting. It's important to me to approach people with an open heart, to understand them and their concerns, and to develop tailored consulting formats to optimally accompany them on their individual journey. At the same time, this building block helps me do my job with plenty of energy, drive, and joy.
Off to the future – What technical gimmick would you invent to make your life easier at work or at home?
I would advocate for a high-speed train or an air taxi between Trier and Cologne to commute more quickly between where I live and the KI.M. Nevertheless, I greatly appreciate working in the Rhineland and living on the Moselle. For me, this combination epitomizes a perfect work-life balance.
Whether it’s a travel destination, an activity or something else – what’s at the top of your bucket list?
As a former triathlete, I've always wanted to run the world's largest road marathon in New York. The atmosphere must be so thrilling that I'd love to be caught up in that feeling—hoping that the 42.195 km won't seem so long. 😊
Welcome to KI.M, Kathrin![:]
