[:de]Training at KI.M – Pia Sendrowski talks about her training as an office management assistant[:]

[:de][:de]We have been offering young talent the opportunity to complete their apprenticeship as office management assistants with us since 2006. This year, we are once again looking for dedicated trainees with intelligence, heart, and courage.

Our trainee Pia answers what you can expect during your training at KI.M in an interview:

Tell us more about yourself – Who are you?

I'm Pia Sendrowski, 20 years old, born in beautiful Cologne, and in the second year of my apprenticeship as an office management assistant. After obtaining my general higher education entrance qualification in 2020, I decided to pursue an apprenticeship as an office management assistant because it's a very versatile program that offers a wide range of opportunities. I came across KI.M through the Chamber of Industry and Commerce apprenticeship exchange and applied. After an online test and a telephone interview, I was invited to an interview and was very impressed by everyone's openness and warmth. One week later, my apprenticeship began.

Don’t be shy – how did you convince us in the interview?

During my internship at a funeral home, I was able to gain initial insights into commercial processes, sparking my interest in them and gaining initial experience in this field. Furthermore, my precise working method is particularly beneficial for tasks that require a high degree of accuracy, such as invoicing. My organizational skills allow me to maintain an overview even with the many different tasks.

What tasks await you and what do you particularly like about your training at KI.M?

The training at KI.M is very varied; you quickly take on your own tasks and can work independently. You also always have a contact person you can turn to if you have any questions. During the two- to three-year training, you'll constantly be faced with new tasks. I started with mail processing, incoming invoices, and reception duties. Over time, I gained an overview of the processes and was able to become more and more involved. The various events that regularly take place at KI.M offer the opportunity to be creative and to support the planning and implementation. If I'm particularly interested in a topic, it's always possible to get a more detailed insight. I particularly enjoy preparing outgoing invoices, but also creative tasks, such as finding a new caterer for our client events. For me, it's the mix of fixed tasks and new challenges that makes the training special. 🙂

Mind, heart or courage – which component of KI.M consulting appeals to you most and why?

Definitely the heart! And that's something you often find at KI.M. I was warmly welcomed by the office and the entire KI.M team when I started my apprenticeship. I think it's great that I have the opportunity to work with such warm-hearted people every day.

Whether it’s a travel destination, an activity or something else – what’s at the top of your bucket list?

At the top of the list is definitely the Festival of Lights in Thailand. Numerous lanterns are released in various locations, transforming the sky into a sea of lights. I don't want to miss this breathtaking sight, and since Thailand is my top travel destination anyway, I hope to be able to attend sometime soon.
