[:de]An interview with our new colleague Iris[:]

[:de][:de]Our new colleague Iris has been supporting us as a Senior Consultant since July 2023. She enriches our team not only with her extensive academic and practical experience, but also with her personal qualities. We look forward to implementing new projects with her.

Tell us more about yourself – Who are you?

My name is Iris Kranefeld, and I've been supporting KI.M as a Senior Consultant since July. During my last professional position, I worked as a research assistant in the Department of Work, Organizational, and Business Psychology at the University of Bonn, where I conducted research and taught. I completed my doctorate there in 2021. Since completing my systemic coaching training in 2018, I've also been working freelance as a coach and trainer, gaining some exciting insights in the process. I took a break last year after completing my doctorate and am excited to be starting again with renewed energy. I first became aware of KI.M through a KI.M alumnus, who recommended not only the exciting projects but also the fantastic team to me.

Don’t be shy – how did you convince us in the interview?

Versatility is the first thing that comes to mind when I think about this point: Not only do I have a great passion for working with and for people and organizations, but I also bring a broad repertoire of experience from academia and practice. Furthermore, I remain curious and am always open to learning new things.

Mind, heart or courage – which component of KI.M consulting appeals to you most and why?

A few years ago, I probably would have answered "comprehension" without hesitation, because lifelong learning and teaching are core values of mine. Today, I would say "courage," because I've recently taken a lot of leaps into the unknown (e.g., taking a year off). This has taught me that being courageous doesn't always mean moving forward. It can also mean stopping or looking back. This can lead to completely unimagined possibilities.

Off to the future – What technical gimmick would you invent to make your life easier at work or at home?

I would love to have a kind of queue app like the ones at an amusement park for life, because I don't like waiting or standing in line. Where is the fastest airport security check? When is the supermarket empty? Which train connection has the fewest passengers? How long is the line at the café around the corner? An add-on to the gadget for me would be an FAQ for "efficient queuing" so I can make the most of my time while waiting in line.

Whether it’s a travel destination, an activity or something else – what’s at the top of your bucket list?

Since my childhood dream job was always to be an adventurer, there's quite a lot I'd like to see and learn, from places to skills and languages. I've always wanted to go to South and Central America – it hasn't happened yet, but it's definitely on my bucket list. I wouldn't say no to a round of heliskiing in Canada, but a surfing course might be easier to do first.

Welcome to KI.M, Iris![:][:]
