This philosophy has guided us as the Cologne Institute for Management Consulting and KI.TEST GmbH from the very beginning. We were once again represented at this year's GWPs conference and were able to present our practice-relevant research on the shortage of skilled workers and systemic leadership.

With a total of 136 participants, the conference in Essen under the motto “Mastering crises, building resources, strengthening sustainability: Perspectives from business psychology“ a wealth of information and insights into the latest developments in the field of business psychology.

The keynote speeches by Prof. Dr. Jan Dettmers and Prof. Dr. Michaela Wänke were particularly inspiring. Prof. Dettmers spoke about the sustainable design of work and how companies and employees can be supported in this change process. The presentation emphasized the practical implementation of work psychology research and presented new approaches to making work psychology expertise more effective in companies. Prof. Wänke, on the other hand, spoke on the topic of "Psychology for the Future" and explained how psychology can contribute to promoting sustainability. Using examples from various fields, she illustrated how psychological processes influence judgments, attitudes, and behavior and how these can be positively reinforced.

A research symposium focused on the impact of digitalization on industrial workers. Speakers examined various aspects, such as self-directed coping with digital work demands, the professional impact of the coronavirus pandemic, and the associated digitalization and isolation.

The practical symposium focused on methodological approaches for assessing psychological stress in the workplace. Effective tools and methods were discussed that can help employers identify and assess psychological stress among their employees.

The GWPs conference also offered numerous other contributions, including lectures, research and practice symposia, and poster sessions. A total of 76 presentations were presented, allowing our consultants to think outside the box and stimulate professional and social exchange.

We are already looking forward to the upcoming conference next year in Cologne.[:]
