[:en]Why are intuitive decisions successful under uncertainty? What can promote tax compliance? How can a bold marketing campaign positively change a company's image?
We experienced how diverse and multifaceted business psychology is at the 23rd conference of the Society for Applied Business Psychology (GWPs) at the Berlin University of Media, Communication and Business (HMKW)From March 14 to 16, 2019, business psychologists from across Germany met to share their research findings and discuss practical issues in business psychology. From media and advertising psychology to personnel, work, and organizational psychology, the expert audience was offered a wide range of topics. We at KI.M and our colleagues from AI.TEST have actively participated in their own lectures, workshops and discussions. Christian Dries was on the road in a dual capacity – as Managing Director of KI.M and at the same time as President of the GWPs He is the strategic head of the trade association.
In addition to the keynote speeches by Erich Kirchler on “Financial Psychology” and Gerd Gigerenzer on “The Power of Human Intuition”, the chairwoman of the Berlin Transport CompanySigrid Nikutta, focused on the practice and challenges of changing corporate image. Current discussions on trends in business psychology, such as artificial intelligence, agility, and digitalization, were complemented by a constructive exchange between students, lecturers, and practitioners.
The supporting program, including a historical tour of Berlin's ghost stations and the annual social evening, made the congress an experience with many opportunities for exchange.
With a total of 280 participants, the largest GWPs conference to date was a complete success and we were able to gain many valuable insights from the scientific community for our practical work.
We are looking forward to the next congress in March 2020 at the University of Applied Sciences in Stuttgart![:]
