Even though the weather app wanted to keep things exciting until the very end, there was nothing for superstition on Friday the 13th. Rather, around 50 invited KI.M alumni, i.e. former interns and employees, as well as our project partners the special edition of the summer festival in the year of 20th anniversary experience.

Whereby we should speak of “experience“, because it was an active experience in every respect, characterized by a warm togetherness of the people who have met professionally over the years on the sixth floor in Domstraße. This was already noticeable at the champagne reception, where 20 years of KI.M and the joy of reunion was initiated. Christian Dries captured the lively atmosphere in his speech and spanned the arc of the development of the Cologne Institute for Management Consulting from the past to the world of work 4.0, which has not only long been an important topic in everyday consulting for KI.M, but is also the focus of its own innovative further development.

KI.M Alumni & Friends Sommerfest 2019

Creative insights into our everyday work

In this sense, we have Station run creatively. Across the office floor, there were not only insights into the new premises, but also into current topics and future questions of consulting in the HR context. We offered various stations on the topic of agility: In addition to "agile" games and a video followed by a quiz, there was even the opportunity to develop your own agile competency profile. The new products, such as the relaunch of KI.PAT or the new test procedure KI.8 (the online-based personality questionnaire from AI.Test) provided exciting insights, as did the open exchange with Christian Dries on future strategies and trends.

The mood audibly improved during the course of this station run, so the delicious and artistic finale on the roof terrace was just the right moment. The barbecue buffet and probably the best cocktails in town tasted particularly good with a view of Cologne Cathedral. Then, when "Mr. Loop" delivered his very own musical interpretation of agility with his guitar in the moonlight, it was clear: This did justice to the occasion and the people who have helped shape 20 years of KI.M. Dagmar Hanewinkel once again expressed her very personal thanks to them. She highlighted not only the current KI.M team, but also the alumni and friends who have been our companions over the past 20 years and will continue to accompany us in the future in the world of work 4.0.
