[:de]Intelligent, cooperative, and courageous – that's what KI.M stands for, and we also value this in our colleagues. Therefore, we are delighted that Marten Bischoff has been supporting us as a consultant since the end of last year.
Tell us more about yourself – Who are you?
My name is Marten Bischoff, 23 years old, and I've been a consultant at the Cologne Institute for Management Consulting since November 1, 2022. After graduating from high school, I studied psychology in Bielefeld, specializing in work and organizational psychology, as well as personnel and applied social psychology. For my master's thesis, I explored an innovative form of digital aptitude testing and examined top athletes in the first German football league. In addition to my studies, I worked for about four years as a coach and sports psychology employee at Arminia Bielefeld's youth performance center. In addition to my studies and my work in football, I worked as a student employee in the internal human resources development department of a global company. The various stages of my life have encouraged me to pursue my path, which has now led me to Cologne. I'm happy to have arrived at KI.M and look forward to contributing my previous experience and further expanding it.
Don’t be shy – how did you convince us in the interview?
My open and communicative nature enabled me to build a rapport with my colleagues right from the first meeting. Combined with my enthusiasm, curiosity, and courage to try new things, I immediately felt at home in the KI.M culture. In addition to my personal qualities, I also have a strong interest in science and have gained diverse experience in both the business and sports contexts.
Mind, heart or courage – which component of KI.M consulting appeals to you most and why?
A key reason for choosing KI.M was the mix of the three brand building blocks. In my opinion, the combination of intellect, heart, and courage leads to success.
Personally, I use my mind to continuously develop myself, to find innovative and individual solutions and to overcome current and future challenges.
The Rhineland's open and warm nature has accompanied me throughout my life. Furthermore, my various career paths and my strong preference for team sports have repeatedly shown me that together, more is possible.
Last but not least, courage is a very important quality for me, one that enables me to take on any challenge. For me personally, "jumping into the deep end" is the best way to learn quickly and have fun.
Off to the future – What technical gimmick would you invent to make your life easier at work or at home?
My dream would be to be able to fly. This would not only allow me to cover long distances quickly (e.g., between client meetings), but would also have a lot of fun doing it. It would also allow me to gain new perspectives, figuratively speaking, and view any challenge multidimensionally.
Whether it’s a travel destination, an activity or something else – what’s at the top of your bucket list?
First, as a newcomer to Cologne, I'd like to get to know my new home better. While I've already explored a few neighborhoods, there's still a lot for me to see and experience. Regarding upcoming travels, my recent trip through America between college and starting work has made me even more curious about new people, cultures, and landscapes. This year, I want to revive my childhood memories of hiking and travel to Scandinavia.
Welcome to KI.M, Marten![:]
