Globalization and geopolitical uncertainties, skills shortages and cultural shifts, sustainability and constantly evolving business areas – in a constantly changing world, leadership is more than just making decisions and managing resources. It requires empathy, adaptability, and the ability to steer teams through uncertain waters. In times of change, leadership skills are crucial to charting the course and making the most of a changing environment. But how does leadership succeed in such turbulent times?

Just a few years ago, personally furnished individual offices and permanently assigned workstations were common in companies. This went hand in hand with the presence of all employees and managers on site. Flexible, mobile working and home offices? More of an exception. The fact that many of us now hold digital meetings at the kitchen table, salary discussions via Zoom, or new client meetings with a view of the Adriatic Sea feels normal. Nevertheless, the nature of collaboration is changing as colleagues are in the office less often, companies downsize, and shared desk systems become established – for both employees and managers. This raises questions like: Will I be able to stay close to my team? How do I best communicate such changes? And where will what take place in the new premises?
