Future-relevant skills: Success through targeted training

In our last Contribution We highlighted the importance of competency models for future-oriented companies. We demonstrated how these models help define the skills and behaviors that are critical to business success. But how can these defined competencies be effectively developed and strengthened?

The answer lies in targeted skills training: Traditionally, our skills training often focuses on strengthening teamwork or communication skills, effective conflict management, or various other leadership skills. We also recognize that in a fast-paced, hybrid work world, key skills that are particularly relevant for the future are gaining in importance and therefore deserve special attention:

One such key competence in uncertain times is, for example, Ambiguity tolerance – the ability to tolerate ambiguous situations and contradictory courses of action. In individually tailored coaching sessions, we train employees how to better deal with different expectations. These expectations may arise from cultural differences, changes in the workplace, or deviations from familiar structures. With us, you can ultimately learn to perceive such challenging or unexpected events as less of a threat and to work together effectively despite uncertainty.

During a complex restructuring with many unclear details, managers used the skills they acquired in our training to create clear lines of communication and promote open dialogue within the team. She maintained calm and conveyed reassurance, allowing her team to work efficiently and successfully overcome the challenges.

Another future-relevant concept is the Ambidexterity in leadership. We train managers to combine two seemingly contradictory approaches: perfecting the current situation and innovating the desired situation. We show participants methods of ambidextrous leadership that they can use in their workplace. Through these methods, they can create an effective balance between "security in the present" and "shaping the future."

Thanks to our close ties to academia, we can specifically promote these and other future-relevant skills and train employees across all levels of the hierarchy. We continually refine our training programs to ensure they are always state-of-the-art in both theory and practice.
