Assessment Center for selection for a talent development program
Our customer's concern
The AOK NordWest places a great focus on the Promotion and development of their employees. To enable the right employees to participate in the AOK NordWest talent development program, applicants undergo an assessment center to identify their potential for a medium-term position in middle management. The selection process is designed to determine whether applicants already have sufficient potential for a management or specialist career or do not yet have the potential. AOK NordWest not only attaches importance to the qualitative quality of the assessment, but especially on a digital, i.e. paperless implementation of the entire AC implementation.

The project
In a joint conceptual process for developing the selection procedure, the exercise modules and contents of the AC were defined. The basis for this was the Competency model of AOK NordWest. The prerequisite for participation in the AC is the successful completion of a Online tests to measure analytical skillsFor this purpose, the online test developed by KI.TEST Analytical skills at work (AFB). All successful applicants will then take part in a two-day AC part.
Around the diagnostic quality In order to optimise the assessment centre, the AOK NordWest observers receive a three-hour Observation training, which takes place remotely via WebEx. In addition to the content of the AC, observation biases will be discussed and perception training will be provided.
A maximum of nine candidates participate in an AC. Three teams of observers each evaluate and assess the candidates' performance based on their competency. Using our KI.PAT software, developed at KI.M, and the use of tablet PCs for observers, the Observation and evaluation documentation completely paperless. The digital recording of observations and evaluations enables resource-saving and efficient implementation. The observers’ data are transmitted directly and automatically evaluatedAt the end of the AC, all candidates will receive an individual, detailed feedback to their services. This is done by creating a Report for each participant rounded.
The result
The Acceptance of the new selection process was significantly increased: Both the observers and participants of AOK NordWest have given the new selection procedure a highly meaningful and fair. They also appreciated the pleasant atmosphere. Digital data capture increases the efficiency of the process and enables additional evaluations, such as a more detailed assessment evaluation.
