Virtual onboarding for CONET
Our customer's concern
Onboarding new employees in times of COVID-19? A challenging task, as our client CONET has also discovered. Communicating and experiencing corporate values, as well as engaging with key information, form the foundation for sustainable collaboration between employees and the organization. The onboarding event we previously conducted in person therefore needed to be rethought. KI.M's approach: We are designing a purely virtual onboarding event! CONET's goal and main concern: Through the virtual format, the IT service provider's values should be communicated as tangibly as possible, and the corporate culture should be experienced by new colleagues as interactively as possible. An exciting project…
The project
In coordination with the client, KI.M developed a virtual onboarding event for an experience-oriented introduction to CONET's corporate culture. The goals of the joint project were to create a customized design and actively convey CONET's values, as well as to increase new employees' identification with the organization's values. Furthermore, the onboarding format serves to strengthen team spirit and expand the employee network within the company. This was made possible through remote group dynamics and experiential learning training elements. True to the motto: movement, fun, and active communication in front of the camera instead of tedious listening without interaction. This allows for a lively, tangible, transparent, and sustainable communication of the corporate culture. Using various exercises in changing small groups, a sense of togetherness can be successfully developed even despite physical distance, optimally supporting the arrival in the new work environment.
The result
The 16 participants agreed: The conceptual design of the onboarding event ultimately enabled the successful transformation of the in-person event into a remote format! This was primarily due to dynamic training elements, which, combined with the involvement of internal stakeholders such as HR and management, enabled participants to experience CONET's values. The three webinar sessions, spread over a day and a half, were extremely successful in building a strong connection between the future employees and CONET, despite its decentralized nature. We are proud to have successfully established this bond between employees and the company within the given circumstances – we say: Mission accomplished.
